“… In the paintings of Ana Luísa Ribeiro the transposition/transformation to/on the canvas from fragments of texts, captions or images taken from books is sustaind. But, if once before this process would directly relate to an existing object, her most recent works go further away from the imediat recognition. Fictional elements are now introduced. Of big dimensions, taking away from the viewer the chance of having an intimate relationship with the reading (of the canvas), these paintings changed into pages go on being “turned” as if a page of a book, by the mooving forwards and backwords of the viewer itself, in face of that is to be seen. …”
