The pages of books painted by Ana Luísa Ribeiro are, first of all, the establishment of a scale of relation with our intimacy system. As we gaze at her book pages, the drawing of intimacy is disentangled and a public relationship is defined – we all who look at the paintings share a same writing turned into a picture and a public relationship, turned into a public scale. This means, the painting of Ana Luísa Ribeiro is not about book pages, but about a process of converting an intimate relationship in a public allusion, a private fictional construction in a rethoric.
